To all the audiophiles here: I know the source leaves a lot to be desired, but anyone have any experience with this desktop system?

Are you referring to the Zeppelin?
I've heard it demoed.
It sounds ok, but rather unimpressive considering the price tag.
Unless you care sufficiently about the aesthetic of the thing, I wouldn't consider it a good buy.

It sounds very good. The powered AudioEngine and Kanto speakers are two more options for less money.

Never heard it, sorry. I use the Tannoy i30, a similar thing, as my alarm clock, and it's just OK. It sounded better to me than the Monitor Audio one that was my other contender. The DSP is set too rich in the midbass. That is a common problem for these little things. I would imagine the full-range drivers (not proper Dual Concentrics, just midranges with a sophisticated whizzer, kind of like the Thiel CS2.4's mid-tweeter) are more coherent than B&W's two-way getup.

The B&W sounds good, but I don't think it justifies the price or the looks. Unless you have a living space that matches the Zeppelin, it sticks out like a sore thumb.
