Hey all

I have a hopefully easy to answer question on fabrics. I was told today that even pure wool is dipped in polyester after its been woven into fabric. As opposed to polyester blends in which the strands of wool are dipped before being woven into fabric. This does not seem right to me. Is it true?

Edit: i understand some of the people here actual sell fabrics, so i am hoping this will be an easy answer for them

Never apologise, never admit error, never resign

Reminds me of that line from She Wore a Yellow Ribbon - Never apologize and never explain--it's a sign of weakness.

Speaking of which, the Hollywood Costume exhibition at ACMI in Melbourne is pretty good for anyone interested in cinema and/or clothes.

Hey guys, back!......and greeted with a mankini......
Nolvadex very ******* nice suit!
Just wondering if you guys use suede for wet weather? I find myself wearing chukkas a lot in the weekends and with some spray they seem to do fine even in ****** weather; with this theory was thinking of replicating the storm welted RM's in a dark brown suede (crazy?)!
cheers man.

there was a discussion about suede in wet weather a couple pages back

Btw how was the MTO process with the camel leather RM's? Is it just a matter of walk in get fitted and stuff then wait (4?) months?

Just picked up suit no. 5 from Patrick this evening (dark gray Loro Piana 3-ply). Had asked for a wider lapel, a 3-roll-2 front, more drape in the chest, more room in the skirt, a higher rise and slightly more break. Hand-finished as always.

Could not be happier with the results.

Also saw their OTR button-downs and could not resist the striped blue model in DJ Anderson linen.

Decided to another, this one in white Oxford cloth with the same BD collar.

Wallet complained bitterly(-:

Will try to post a pic of the suit this weekend. Shirt pics will have to wait till I get it back with the sleeves shortened next week.

P.S. Good to meet Remy and Pat's missus.

Before I forget, wrt cobblers in Sydney, there's a skilled young fella at the mister minit underneath Myers in the city, who does great work. He's training as a shoemaker, and pretty good at re-welting and refurbishing the likes of EG and C&J.

I believe his name is Nathan.

That's pretty funny - I ordered a suit last week with the same cloth, also in dark grey, and also 3-roll-2 with wider lapels. I guess we have good taste? Looking forward to seeing how yours turned out, it'll keep me going for the next few weeks until I get my own.

There is a form in their catalogue where you can go through and select the leather, colour, sole etc you like which is then posted off.

If I were you, I'd consider just buying their suede craftsman with the rubber composite sole. It would be considerably cheaper.

I managed to get around Finland and the Netherlands for a couple of months in a pair of dyna sole craftsman without any issue.

Where did you get it? I can't fit it on their website. I doubt DJ's would stock a flannel suit but I'll go and check them out tomorrow.

PG, not sure what size you are but if memory serves thebrownman is selling this suit, 40R if believe.
