start of racist rant: Koreans dress like **** though... end of racist rant.
My experience: there are a lot of fashion conscious people, especially in the places where I tend to end up everyday. I walk amongst hundreds of girls and a few guys carrying notebooks with fabric clippings, sketches, scribbles, and people notice what each other is wearing, it's a hipster convention. I see somewhat famous designers, I see no name part time grunts, we're all checking out each others clothing. At that level, no one really needs to ask what each other is wearing; we either have a good idea of what it is or don't really care about the specifics. On the regular streets, at bars, in clubs, people are still fashion conscious, a lot more so than in any American city, maybe even more than the average European city. People here know what is what. Not as sharp as Tokyo people, but Koreans know what the iconic pieces are, or the outward branding/labeling, and what the brand name might be. Tons of Dior Homme out there, a lot of it fake, some of it real. You go shopping and see guys in Rick, I see guys in some Japanese midmarket, I see streetwear guys in Visvim and Japanese street brands, Supreme, etc. When I got those MMM hightops for the first time last year, I had a ton of guys giving them a second look on the street, and they didn't even sell those particular shoes at the MMM stores in Korea. Not a single person stopping to talk to me about clothes though.
last time I did that I saw an older Filipino dude wearing a harrington, he was really small/skinny and it fit perfect. He said he got it at Walmart.
