More lurking wanted before posting.
It's like asking the teacher questions halfways through the lecture. The answers will probably come.

I find american apparel t-shirts to be extra small I think you would fit a small in their sizing pretty well

Whatever it takes, mate. If you have to wear boys clothes, but they fit well, nobody will know (provided they're not 'Thomas the Tank Engine' or something).

I'm 6'8" and I have the opposite problem. Have to shop at big & tall shops which tend to make all their clothes more for the big and less for the tall... If you know what I mean.

I will just reiterate what others have said and say that if you could get a neater fitting shirt it would improve everything. Secondly, straight leg jeans would look better on you, and they'd need to be shortened by a tailor by the look of it.

Look around Style Forum a while and you'll soon get a feel for the way people wear their clothes to look good.

Also, in future, there are sticky threads for basic questions about clothes which don't require an entirely new discussion -

Big clothes make you look smaller, which is why fatties (including myself at times) have resorted to wearing such big clothes. You can shop in the boys section but stay away from graphics.

I would go at least 2 sizes bigger on everything, including the shoes.

yes, plain tees would work.but again, if that is your style and you comfort with that, then go for it.

I just meant if he was buying in the boys section. The graphics may not cross over as well and he may initially miss something that marks it as a boys shirt.
