Greece is my favorite country. I've seen fat old Greek men eat shirtless at nice restaurants in Athens. That it makes it the most laid back country on earth.

Therefore it's the best country on earth. Greece rules.

Smoking indoors was great too. Apparently that's changed now due to new laws.

Are you serious? I was in Greece for Christmas. NOTHING has changed--everybody smokes, even at restaurants (well, not at every restaurant I guess). It's pretty disappointing if you're a nonsmoker. I wonder when it's going to change.

I'm in Bay Ridge...its Brooklyn's Astoria, and Astoria is America's Greece. I work with a ton of Greek girls at work...love the Greek food round here (4th and 86th)...but alas, I am of Southern-Italian descent, so we're just cousins.

I think it was meant to change last year but everyone has just been ignoring it.

NYR, I've been to Southern Italy and Sicily twice, and I I was astounded by how similar Greeks and southern Italians look and behave. Northern Italy is a different story; more central European than Mediterranean.

Not very many SF members living in Greece at the moment. I counted two: creed13 (Athens), Tarzan (Thessaloniki).

I'm actually a little surpised by that, I expected more. Young people in Greece care about their style and clothes--or at least they did until ~5 years ago.

That's because Southern Italy = Magna Graecia.
