No, but I thought it was funny that this beer came out right after there was an article in GQ (or maybe it was Men's Vogue) about making a chelada at home.

A friend of mine runs a bar in Tallahassee. He got a few cases for free. It's utter crap. It's marketed as a Corona-style beach beer, but it is by far the most carbonated beer I've ever had. Absolutely horrible, has some sort of nurtisweet-type of taste (And Corona is, by far, my favorite-tasting beer (flame away beer snobs, flame away))

I don't see it lasting. No girl will drink it at the beach due to the crazy carbonation causing bloating, and it sucks taste-wise.

You mean Miller Chill? If so, I went to a bar last week and saw a bunch of signs promoting it, they ran out though. I'll try it one day and I'm sure I wont like it.

Buddy of mine bought some of it, it's basically lime Zima. It's not good, but it's kind of refreshing, I guess.

If you can't find it, buy Rolling Rock and add a bit of lime Koolaid to it.

On behalf of half of my people, I am so, so, so sorry that went to the US. A "michelada"-style beer is pretty common down here in Central America and Mexico. If done manually it can be a rather refreshing way to drink otherwise-crappy beer much the way you add limes to Corona. A few years ago the national brewing company here decided to make their own michelada using Rock Ice beer, Rock Ice being marginally better than MGD, and calling it Rock Ice Limon. The result was a beer that tasted like what sweaty urine from a lime would be. Imagine emptying a can of beer and a single lemon in a potato sack full of salt and drinking that chilled. And yet it's very popular with the ladies here, many of whom have switched to it from their standard Smirnoff Ice. Yeah, riddle me that one. But your mileage may vary.

The Willer product doesn't have much salt at all. If it did, I'd probably like it a lot more.

No kidding? They proclaim it as having a "hint of salt and spice." Down here they serve a michelada beer in a goblet glass rimmed with salt and drowned in lime juice. Might as well be a margarita.

They also imply a hint of beer, but none was to be found.

I had a couple of micheladas (not the miller type) last week... They were on teh menu at a taco joint. I said it sounded interesting, and the waiter asked if I like tomato juice. He delivered a pint glass 1/4 full with what was essentially bloody mary mix along with a can of tecate and a large wedge of lime. You know, it was pretty good for a lunchtime drink.

That's odd. What part of Mexico are you from? All of the places I have been in Mexico, as well as virtually all of the info. I looked up online show a Michelada as what Shoreman describes it as below (usually has bloody mary mix, or Worchestshire sauce, tabasco, etc. mixed in)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michelada
http://www.npr.org/programs/atc/feat...michelada.html

(thousands more)

A "Chelada" on the other hand, or Cubana, is what the Miller drink is meant to emulate. I agree with others here, it is really bad. It is watery (a chelada is meant to have ice in it, but isn't supposed to be this watery), tastes like it has lime-scented bathroom cleaner in it and has a horrible aftertaste. They had a great opportunity here and they messed it up.
