Another stupid thread about bed sheets

No, I don't want to know what "teh best sheets in teh world" are.

I need some sheets. They need to be soft. They need to be inexpensive. I go through sheets fast so if they get ruined I don't want my life savings lost on a set of goddamn sheets. I need something that is replaceable, but comfortable.

Brand name, thread count, yarn length, cock girth, whatever - I don't care. As long as they are soft, comfortable and feel nice.

I'd really like to keep this to $50 but if it is completely impossible to get decent sheets at that price, then I guess I will go up to $75. Like I said, this isn't some kind of heirloom that I will be passing on to my illegitimate children in 40 years. I just need something that will get replaced every 6-12 months due to assorted bodily fluid build-up.

I have some Costco Kirland brand 100% pima cotton sheets that I like (more than the much more expensive sheets an ex-gf bought me). IIRC they were around $50.

Obviously I also do not get laid as I am replying your sheet thread on SF on a Friday night.

Excellent. But do I need a Costco membership to purchase them? Also, are they available online? I don't think there is a Costco in NYC.

Yeah you'd need a membership. They have some on the site that are $70 for a queen set..not sure if that's what I have; thought I remembered them being cheaper.

I know there's a Costco in Queens; probably Brooklyn as well, and I thought there was one way uptown in Manhattan.

Unrelated - Costco is currently on my **** list for having the nerve to be closed today when I was trying to get some beef to make chili.

If you can get to a TJ Maxx, you can find a great deal on sheets - well within your prescribed budget. Just go for the highest thread count you can find.

Marshalls sells a lot of name brand sheets for less than 50$.
See what they have on any given day and drop your 30$ on what ever looks the best and has highest thread count and/or name brand cotton on that day. Its always worked for me. They're just sheets.

^^^Not to derail, but I imagine you would use some kind of mattress protector under the sheets for such activities, any recommendations?

J/K. I already have one. The cheaper ones are supposed to be less breathable, thus more uncomfortable when it's hot, but I bought one at Target when my mattress was new that's supposed to be waterproof, allergen-proof, and has some padding to it too so it's breathable. My plush-top mattress is over 12" thick on its own, though, and with the cover it adds up to 13", and the coordinating set of sheets that came with my comforter is a really tight fit (it goes down the sides but doesn't wrap around the bottom). I think mattresses were typically 9" before the plush-top and pillow-top ones started coming out.

Anyway, the point of this post is: if your mattress is ~12"+ thick, pay attention to how deep the pockets of the sheets are.

Check out Macy's. Usually some kind of sale going on & the quality seems fine. Right after Christmas I got 400 count queen sheet set, mattress cover, 2 down pillows and an extra blanket for 2something, decent deal. The sheets were maybe 50 or 60.
