Hi everyone and happy new year! Long time lurker here, I've finally decided to take the plunge and buy those boots. I have a few apprehensions though, any help in putting those to rest would be greatly appreciated.

How accurate is the sizing of the fit guide available on their website? I measured my feet using the methods they described and for the length ended up almost to the 8.5 mark. Just for the sake of comparison, my Converse Chucks are 8 (or 42 in Euro size) but I'm guessing I should stick to their fit guide and order the 8.5? I'm asking this because I saw some feedback regarding the width and they say that the last used makes it so that it runs narrow. Again, using the fit guide, my foot width is medium (D) but should I size up and order the E?

Thanks a lot and may you all have a great 2015!

I purchased a pair of Daltons sized to my shoe size (10D, as measured). The Daltons were indeed long and narrow. My advice would be to go down at least a half size and up a width. I now find that a 9 1/2 E is my best overall Allen Edmunds fit.

I put an insole in the Daltons and wore them for a season then I donated them to Goodwill.

I measured my feet using the AE online guide, and was later measured at an AE store. The online guide gave an accurate length, but not width - it had me as C/D but I was later measured as B.

I recently got a pair of Daltons and like them a lot. I first ordered a D width, thinking that I would need extra width for heavy socks, but that turned out to be a mistake as they were too loose. I returned them for a B width, which feels appropriately snug.

If at all possible have yourself measured at an AE store, or at another store that uses the standard measuring device.

Thanks to the both of you! Unfortunately going to an AE store is not an option, otherwise I would definitely go. I've ordered the 9.5D, fingers crossed it's a good snug fit.
