Black Strandmok for me today. Why? Because there was a leak above my office and my carpet is soaked...Dainite FTW.

Having scored above a 90 and not having to deal with the "fockery" that is the AF PT test for a solid year, our hero provides brekkie for his colleagues.

I feel like challenge coins are given out like Halloween candy these days

Depends on where you are, like anything else.

I have been known to go to the gift shops at the AlphabetPlaces™ and get coins to give friends as swag.

Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles (Sam & Dean Winchester) have coins from some of the secret squirrel spots. Tim Omundson (Cain on Supernatural, Detective Lassiter on Psych) has one from my trip (selfie in the donut pic) with EOD. We chatted at length about that one, really pissed off all the other people waiting for his autograph. :hide:

They come in handy. My favorite one is just black epoxy on both sides, and one side has an inset triangle in yellowish-gold. That was totally unexpected, but pretty humbling to get.

Sounds like some sort of spec-ops coin to me, I'd be willing to wager there was a limited run of them as well which makes it even more impressive/meaningful.

Mostly off-topic, but it made me miss making a withdrawal from the ShoeBank.

My wife is a Halloween-freak - we decorate more for the 31st than we do for Christmas, she plans her costume outfit all the way back in April, etc. This year she is an alien. Being the lazy, couldn't care less type that I am (my typical costume is a drunk, the Brawny man, things that look like my normal day to day) I decided dressing as a Men in Black outfit would fit the bill of coordinating with her costume and require minimal effort on my part.

I own a dark suit (its charcoal, but its black for anywhere other than SF), black shoes, white shirt, black shades. Perfect, missing a black tie and a prop. The tie can be acquired from Goodwill and Amazon surely has a cheap toy to pass as a prop. I've never seen the movie, but the mind eraser thing is the memorable part - well that and space guns. The space guns in my mind are ambiguous and nonspecific to any movie. Okay that leaves the mind eraser... either spend 15$ for something that reviews unanimously say is a piece of trash or 45$ on a bonafide toy. Who will spend that much on an item I'd buy and put in a drawer for a few years only to end in the landfill? Suckers, thats who.

Being a manly man (no Dalton's here), I decided to put my power tools to the task. Buy a stainless steel cigar holder, a couple of led lights, a 9v battery power adapter, a toggle switch, and some electrical tape. Boom 20$ down the hole, and my result will be better than both. Long story short, several Home Depot trips later for a cobalt drill bit, duct tape, PVC pipe, and some pipe caps I find myself 50 bucks in down the drain. Add an additional 3 hours of labor and I finished with working light switch and a prop that is more likely to pass for well dressed terrorist with a pipe bomb than Men In Black. It's not everyday that I surprise myself, but today was one of those days...

Hopefully my black Sullivans are still in the ShoeBank tomorrow as they are calling my name.
Actually, it looks more like the McGyver version of a lady's marital aid; does it vibrate at all? :hide:
