Alden shoes in the UK?

Why are those so impossible to find here?

Any good online retailers? I really don't want to pay massive shipping charges and import duty, especially as the Pound isn't as overpriced as it was a few months back.

The prices in the UK IME has been very much more than what I paid online even after accounting for taxes.

If you are looking for calf shoes, I've always found their last to be unexciting and clunky (especially the Barrie Last) and there are miles better shoes in UK. They appear to do quite well in Cordovan, presumably due to its long relationship with Horween.

In fact, I just added a pair of cordovan shoes made by Alden to my cart which shows to be USD313 on Brooks Brothers but decided against it as I did not like the last.

Other retailers are Alden of Carmel, aldenshop (which perenially runs clearance on some models), and theshoemart which offers a slight discount but charges alot for international shipping. I doubt even if you get someone as a proxy in the US that the discounts will be significant after shipping as the shoes are heavy.
