Good point. However, ignoring for the moment the possibility of recrafting further down the line, A-E are allowing their employees to devote some of their paid time to activities that won't produce any profit for A-E except, perhaps, in the form of goodwill. Very true. However, considering the speed with which so many forumites (including me) have received replies, the indication is they probably aren't getting tons of such requests. Because of this, they probably view the tiny amount of money going to these non-revenue-generating services as good public relations, and I'd be willing to bet a six-pack they're right. Among AE fans, they DO have a great reputation for customer service and being customer-friendly (which is not always the case with some other companies, such as Alden).
