A good alternative to Converse?

Sick of wearing them if I'm honest. Must have gone through about 8 pairs at this stage and they never last but stupidly I keep going back to them. Now I'm on the lookout for a much better alternative at a similar price. I came across Superga recently and they might be my best bet - what do you guys think?

In all honesty, there's very few/none shoes in that price range that will last any longer than chucks. sub $50 (hell, even sub $100 for the most part) you're basically buying shoes that'll fall apart in a couple seasons if you wear them a lot. see: vans, many nikes, pf fliers, new balance, etc
