I was looking to get a Chronograph for around $1500. So far I've found 3 that I'm interested in. Help me pick one. Or throw in some watches that I might have overlooked. Thanks in advance for your input

- Baume & Mercier Riviera

- Breitling Aeromarine Colt Quartz

- Omega Seamaster Diver 300M
http://www.jomashop.com/2254-50.html

P.S. This is the first time I've spent more than $500 for a watch so I'd like to get it right. :)

most who "know" about watches will tell you to avoid quartz and go with an automatic or hand wound movement. Everything after that is about your taste so take any recomendations for specifics with a grain of salt. At that price level, there is very little difference between watches in terms of constructions and the whole inhouse versus ETA movement argument doesn't really come into play (i think Seiko is the only inhouse mechanical movement you can get in that price range). Anyway, I'd go mechanical and just find a model you like.

Nevertheless, get the watch you really want at the best price you can find.

Unfortunately I'm stuck in Korea for a while (Military) so I am compelled to shop online.

Please check out Timezone. Buying a watch online can definitely save money, but I highly recommend trying on the pieces you like in person before making such an investment. Tourneau is a good place to start. A reputable local jeweler is also an invaluable resource.

Is there a Tourneau in the DMZ in Korea?

I don't think so, I'll check the website. There may be one in Seoul. I'm going to Seoul in a couple weeks anyway to pick up some APC's. :)

Of these 3, I would absolutely definitely pick the Seamaster. Without a doubt.

Just one of the watches you have listed is technically a chronograph - Baume & Mercier Riviera. BTW, is jomashop a reputable dealer? Good luck with your purchase!

They are a reputable grey market dealer. Unlike most reputable grey market guys, they do not offer the original warranty but do offer their own warranty. Given that all those watches have very basic movements, I wouldn't worry about sending the watch into Joma for repair if the need arised. Joma has been around for at least 10 years.

I noticed that. I couldn't find to many other Chrono's that I liked in that price range.
