How do you even know that? Do you keep track?

Depends on how often you wash them and how you wash them....do you get them dry cleaned?

if it's a quality suit and you dont dry clean it often (let say once every 20-30 wears) you can practically keep it for half a life.

how i know this? well, my father has several suits he wears very often that go way back to the late 80s, and they arent big name suits. just average run of the mill kinds. dry cleans them twice a year and he has them still and they are in excellent shape. no threads missing, no lining coming undone. just the usual dry cleaning effect on the wool. that is all.

So you are saying that the wool is shiny, though? Do you still wear suits that have developed shine? I grapple with this often...

My oxford shirts have taken a beating without any visible wear. I've put my older ones through at least a hundred wash cycles--some of them have been repeatedly put through the dryer, too.

Foo notes that his shirts are oxfords. Specifically, I believe that they are MTM BB OCBDS.
