    Mod to Suedehead

That's interesting about the NHS glasses, it makes a lot of sense. I guess the equivalent here would be Walmart glasses, I know a few people who have 'slummed it' with them, which I find tasteless to do so cynically. Something really actionable for me on that is that tortoise-shell has come up...

    Mod to Suedehead

This is an odd question. I've adopted a slightly skinhead look, and wear glasses. I'm curious to know, were there any particular styles of glasses that were popular amongst skins way back when?

    Norman / Iron Age look

Hello everyone, I saw this sweater on ebay and fell in love with it, it's an old LL Bean, unfortunately XL. It got me thinking, do you know of anyone else who produced pieces that have a Norman / Iron Age feel like this? http://cgi.ebay.com/Vtg-L-L-Bean-Blu...item19bc658c51

    SF Film/Cinema Thread

Was a good week for film, I saw Jia Zhang Ke's 24 City and Lars Von Trier's Antichrist. Both were harrowing. Anyone seen the latter yet? It would make a good discussion thread..

    King Crimson

I bought a coke of someone recently who told me I looked like Robert Fripp, and asked me if I was his son. He then proceeded to ask me to join his band. I didn't know whether to be happy or destroyed.

New trailer for Where The Wild Things Are

Is any other child of the eighties sick of production companies reviving every little thing from our past in a plot to get us into the cinema? I find it really cynical, safe and totally retrograde. Karen O did the soundtrack? Wow, speaking of safe and retrograde....

    Most Underrated Musical Artists

By virtue of their being the most underrated, my guess is that we have never heard of them. If I had to choose someone of moderate success who should be canonized, then Scott Walker is an easy choice.

Post your five favorite bands and I will mock and generalize you.

I don't know about favorites, but in terms of bothering to pick up almost every record it would be: Swans Meshuggah Whitehouse Deathspell Omega Scott Walker

Achieving Success. What is your theory of attaining it?

There is no fail safe theory, it differs greatly in every field. You can reduce your chance of failure by getting a degree. The more prestigious the school, the more lube on your resume. That's a pretty standard truism. One word of wisdom I can offer is that starting out, be the person who is...

    British Humo(u)r

As a Brit and seasoned comedy watcher, you all need to watch everything Chris Morris has ever done, and find a copy of Armando Iannuci's Time Trumpet. The Mighty Boosh/Little Britain are all pale absurdist circle jerks. I am sympathetic to those in the States that get into it, but if you had...
