if you want to even-out the color of that suede, you could apply Saphir Renovateur Spray in Dark Brown. It would not only condition the leather, but also add a consistency of pigment across the entire surface, making those lighter streaks a lot less noticeable. Both Kirby Allison and Trenton &...

Carmina Shoes - Definitive Thread (reviews, advice, sizing, etc...) - official thread.

Thanks for the quick reply. That really is a competitive advantage for Carmina in the states - - most foreign shoemakers do not have US return depots or stores, so you have to return all the way to the factory site, deal with customs, delays, fees, etc.

Carmina Shoes - Definitive Thread (reviews, advice, sizing, etc...) - official thread.

@jet-stream - You state that Carmina doesn't charge for exchanges.... How difficult + expensive would it be to return-ship a pair from USA to Mallorca, if all you need is a size exchange ?? I hear that doing this to Italy is a nightmare, but maybe Spain is less painful...

@Mirage- - - - Which size did you buy, and which size do you feel you may need ?? And are you located in the USA ?? Why I ask - Because I bought the EXACT same artista tassel loafers from Dennis 2 months ago in US9/UK8. They are comfortable and I don't have heel slip. But - they are otherwise...

The YT video below from 'MB Shoedoc' covers this very subject, and demonstrates the best way to fix the issue:: Can I save these Carlos Santos shoes from a Hand Sanitizer strip! It certainly takes some work, but results shown at the end of the video appear to be worth the effort... .

There are no boots shown in the MTO configurator currently, but they may have plans to expand the cordovan offerings sometime soon. You can always ask Toni at the customer service email. He usually responds personally - -

Yeah - that's what I expected, too. But the email I received shows JONES last for the cordovan loafers, and the configurator does not display the last used... maybe it's just a mistake in the email. I might contact Toni for confirmation, one last or the other.

Toni does not state in the Cordovan announcement if the new offerings will be made to Artista design & crafting standards, or Mainline . . . Can anybody confirm ??? The loafers shown in the email appear to be on the Mainline JONES last - not the GOYA last used for Artista loafers.... Artista...

Pennypacker - Thanks for sharing your experience with Uetam loafers. Sounds like it tried your patience during break-in, and demonstrates the extreme challenge that buyers have in dealing with brands that make SO MANY lasts and fitments. My forefoot width was heavily cramped for size 9D in 3...

Aly.B - I can offer this about Carlos Santos from experience - - Highly recommend that you talk to Kostas at The Noble Shoe in Amsterdam, before buying any CS. He is extremely knowledgeable about their regular & handgrade lines, their lasts & various fitments. He really helped me out when I...

It's funny that even Vass themselves call it "the mysterious Blue museum calf" .... And yeah, it does really look quite dark, even in direct sunlight. TLB offers a main collection 545 penny loafer in Brown museum calf, so it's surprising they don't have any Artista loafers in museum.

Made in Spain Footwear, including TLB Mallorca, Cobbler Union, Yanko, Norman Vilalta, etc

Thank you for posting the pic (those are sweet !!). If your leather comes from the same Zonta tannery that TLB sources their museum calf, then it should be quite similar. As shown here and in other pics, appearance of this burgundy is heavily affected by the room lighting.... NOW the...

Viatu - pics of your 135 Artista derbies on TLB website in Navy museum are the ones I've been staring at, as other pics of that Navy are so hard to find. TLB's own pics make it look basically Black. Do you find that Navy museum has any "character", or is it just too similar to Black ?? Could...

Made in Spain Footwear, including TLB Mallorca, Cobbler Union, Yanko, Norman Vilalta, etc

BURGUNDY Museum Calf versus NAVY Museum Calf - - Does anyone have accurate photos of these 2 color TLB leathers ?? I'm considering an MTO order of Artista penny loafers in one of these colors. The online pics I've found either show them both as WAY too dark to see the mottling / variations...

Carmina Shoes - Definitive Thread (reviews, advice, sizing, etc...) - official thread.

Mr. Pennypacker - Is there any way you could compare the Uetam last for general fit, arch + instep against the FOREST and TLB GOYA lasts ?? There's so little info that I've been able to find about the Uetam and UetamEE lasts that I've pretty much given up on buying Carmina loafers, since fit...

Just FYI - Ashland Leather Co. has some very informative YT videos that describe the differences in Horween's shell cordovan colors and how they are processed. Phil & Dan @ashland used to work at the Horween tannery, and exclusively use Horween leathers to create some fantastic handmade...
