    AE: A Class Act

I don't think that was his implication. I think he simply wanted to report a positive customer service experience, which seems to be the exception rather than the norm these days, especially on non-astronomical price/custom objects. Furthermore, the company could have just fixed them or told...

    AE: A Class Act

Just want to say that Allen Edmonds is a class act as a company. I ordered a pair of their new Lubbocks a couple months back. After a couple of weeks the threading that attaches the sides of tongue to the vamp had come undone. A few days later one of the loops that hold down the straps came...

Slim black D&G sports jacket over distressed gray jeans: is this a good look?

It would be allowable if you were wearing it over a nice white collared shirt, while hiking up said distressed pants, while running down the hallway of a luxury hotel, while being chased by a scantily clad super-model throwing high-heeled shoes your direction. Then, and only then.

    Business casual attire

Where I work we have a "business casual" attire policy basically meaning collared shirt, no jeans. Ties are seldom. Suits are only worn by the President or VPs (I work at a university) and one very out-of-place information systems guy. I just started here last Decmber. During the winter I was...

    Good "value" dress shoe?

Get some AEs from eBay. Easy for sub $100.

"What I'm Selling on eBay" - member auctions

Express for Men Producer pants, 34x34, black herringbone. I bought them a few months ago thinking that I'd get them altered to fit. They've been hanging in the closet since and now my wardrobe requirements have changed. Never worn, though I did pull the tags, so NWOT...

Wearing a bowtie without a jacket - sloppy or acceptable?

I think we need pics to back up said looks. I can't picture a bowtie without a jacket that would look "together"

    Removing your hat indoors

I work at a university and am alarmed by the number of students, many who dress well, don't take off their hat. Not just in classrooms, but in the administration buildings and dining hall. I would say for most of them it's either ignorance or the feeling that it's part of their...

    Removing your hat indoors

Do you take your hat off when going indoors? Let's put this in a work/business context. Is it the gentlemanly thing to do, or just being old fashioned?

    Structure Jackets at Marshalls?

As I understand it. The old Structure is now Express Men. Sears sells their own "Structure" brand of no relation.

Shoe lacing, closed or open vamp?

Maybe it's not as a big deal as I think then, here's a picture

Shoe lacing, closed or open vamp?

I have some new shoes (off eBay) and when they are laced up tight the vamp makes a V. Maybe it's just me, but it looks odd, like my feet are too "tall". I guess I've never noticed it in other shoes. The shoes fit fine and are comfortable. Is that V normal and acceptable, or slop?

    Wedding band advice

Step 1: Go to your local hardware store Step 2: Buy a stainless steel pipe from the plumbing section, stick your finger in them until it's tight, but can still pull it out, then buy the next size smaller Step 3: Cut to size, smooth off sharp edges. Boom! Stainless steel is the way of the...

    Marshall's(??!!)

For 119 and 89, respectively? (Those were the prices on the RLPL and Canali's I saw yesterday. I don't remember the exact prices, though the Canali was over $100. It surprised me, there's rarely anything over $50 there. I showed it to the wife and she laughed at me.

    Onthefly.com or sites like it?

I too am waiting for an order of Renovateur. I think it's been about 3-4 weeks since my order. I emailed them a little about 2 weeks ago and they said it would be shipping last week or this week. I haven't had any updates initiated by them though. Makes me sad.

    Marshall's(??!!)

I shop Marshall's / TJ Maxx quite often. Their stock is pretty hit or miss here between months. Sometimes I find a few good deals, most of the time I come out with nothing. Recently I found that their packaged dress shirt section wasn't always full of sh*t. I went through it the other day...

Saphyr Shoe Products - Best Place to Purchase in US?

Ha, there's some sort of irony in knowing that I will be getting my products before the store has informed me

Saphyr Shoe Products - Best Place to Purchase in US?

I ordered from onthefly.com about a month ago and they've been out of stock since. Last week they said that it would ship this week, but nothing yet. Free shipping, yes, but it would've been nice to know they didn't have any in stock in the first place.

Thoughts on the Citizen Eco Drive?

I almost purchased that exact watch myself. I ended up opting for a Stuhrling because I got a better deal and the one I picked out matched my skinny wrists better. Around here, Sears carries that Citizen watch. You can go in there to try it on. I really liked it, would've sprung for it had I...
