The Acolyte: New "Star Wars" Prequel Series Preview Images Released
Arriving on June 4th, here's a new image gallery for Leslye Headland's Amandla Stenberg & Lee Jung-jae-starring Star Wars: The Acolyte.bleedingcool.com
Ahsoka wasn't terrible - it was thoroughly average (though the Rebels callbacks maybe pushed it up to good). Boba wa terrible. Kenobi was below average (considering how hyped everyone was for it)Yeah, it's uninspiring, but it doesn't look genuinely sh!tty, like Ahsoka, Boba Fett, or Kenobi. Maybe it will surprise, like Andor, a show I was certain had no shot at being good and turned out to be fantastic.
I agree with that. A few well planned and executed shows and a bunch of hastily thrown-together money jobs and endless cartoon callbacks.IMO, there have been exactly two season of genuinely good Star Wars shows (discussing live action only, because I haven't watch all the animated stuff). Those are S1 of The Mandolorian and S1 of Andor. Everything else has been, at best, merely decent and/or forgettable.

As long as we get a story, it'll be significantly better than most of the Star Wars properties to this point. Most of the shows have made story (and character development) a distant second priority to moving characters around to get to the set piece action scenes and character interactions (many of them Clone Wars references) that they built everything else around.I'm cautiously optimistic for three reasons:
1. Its created/showrun by Leslyne Headland who did Netflix's Russian Doll, which I thought was really entertaining and original
2. Like Andor, it apparently did not use 'The Volume' virtual set. I've grown tired of them constantly leaning on virtual sets
3. Its the first dive in the High Republic/non-Skywalker era, so I like the idea that we're getting a story that's not necessarily tethered to the main arc which makes it possible to have real stakes
