I'm very interested in the 1000 mile boot. Whats the sizing like? usually wear size 10 on every boot I own but those are not the same style as the 1000 (Jcrew Desert boot, clarks boots). Should I get the 10D? Also, which website shoud I buy them from? I'm looking at The Shoe Mart.

Thanks from me as well. I'm trying to find out if Revolve can special order an 8.5 in the Addison...keeping my fingers crossed.

I have never been much of a boot guy, I have only had hiking boots. Does it take time to get comfortable wearing a boot like this?

Btw-my first post!

Really regretting getting the Browns....

If you plan on wearing these in the snow, that Obenauf's stuff is a MUST, and they darken the **** out of brown ones. Go rust or black.

My boot guy called and said my half soles are in. I'll be dropping them off during the week for my custom commando sole job. Pics after I get them back.

Per my response in a different thread, I think if you stick with Obenauf LP and skip the Obenauf oil, you'll be OK and won't distinctly change/darken the color. I've treated with LP at least a half dozen times and am still very happy with the color. My brown 1K's still have a deep rich, interesting color.

So when it comes to Obenauf and Wolverine 1K compatibility...skip the oil and stick with the LP.

I can't wait to see these. I've been considering a variety of options when I eventually need a resole. Are you going with a lugged sole added to/over the orig leather or are you re-soling the leather outsole with a lugged half-sole?

I've been thinking of simply adding a topy style, lugged half sole made by vibram and of course a lugged heel as well.

Curious to see how yours turn out.

I'm going with a leather half sole combination. I'm using this half sole and this heel plate over a stacked leather heel and a single oak leather sole.

That raptor sole looks very cool!

It shouldn't alter the original aesthetics of the boot as much as a big ole lugged monster. However, the pattern looks like it will up the grip quotient significantly!!

It's no wonder why vibram has so much market share. They just know what they are doing. From lugged mountaineering boots all the way to half soles like these for dress shoes...they get it right.
