Something that has worked for me is a breakfast of plain oatmeal and black coffee.
I don't think I'd have the energy to workout on a thousand calories a day. That's a pretty severe diet.
He's more or less correct, until you get until anaerobic work, which burns a lot more calories. There's no difference in calories burned for jogging 2.5 mph for two hours vs 5 mph for one hour, you went 5 miles in either case. Same distance, same weight, same calories burned. The only reason we prefer to run faster, in terms of calorie burning, is that it takes a lot less time to run the same distance if you're going faster.
It's the fact that running is far less efficient than walking.
I was trying to avoid the running vs walking issue by focusing on just running at different speeds, but yeah.
