36mm, non-quickset Datejust model. Watch was fully serviced Sept. 2016 for $800, included cleaning, gaskets, seals, COSC calibration, etc., and water pressure test with a 3-year warranty (running from 9/16.) The scratched acrylic crystal could not be polished so I elected to replace it with a sapphire; frankly, I think it looks much cleaner. Watch comes on a very elegant brown suede HODINKEE strap ($175!); looks great on it.
Please assess the condition by my pictures. I am only selling this because I am trying to "curate" my Rolexes in the direction of sport models, which are the only ones my sons seem interested in (although I suppose I will be no position to test this when the time comes.)
Note: anything you see on the crystal is just a reflection--there are no scratches!
I have done a little research on prices and I think $2,100 via PP, shipped and insured to CONUS is fair; shipments overseas have to be at my discretion and agreed cost.
If you are looking to get into a classic Rolex that looks great, is guaranteed to be trouble-free and won’t run you the price of a bespoke suit, this could be for you.
I have plenty of watch transactions on WUS with great feedback, so buy with confidence.
