Surely a fabric maker in the first place.

I dislike LP fabrics as being a bit too "fine" for my taste and prefer fabrics form English makers. No doubt what LP produces is technically challenging and they master their craft.

I had a look into their Munich store, but this seems to focus primarily on female customers and I'd see them going there for a similar market as Max Mara. The men's stuff on display did not make me excited in any way, but it surely was pricey.

Question about LORO PIANA's made for Brooks Brothers, Nordstrom etc.... overcoats.

Are they pretty much the same jacket?
I.e. same pattern just different quality fabrics?

I've seen the Strom system jacket under a few different labels. I've only tried on the one at Brooks Brothers, but I see a few different options on Ebay.
Trying to understand the differences and I haven't found a reference about this yet.

Many thanks.

No, not the same jacket.
My understanding is that these garments are not made by LP but rather use LP fabric. Storm system refers to the fabric.

I have a Loro Piana storm system Mackintosh (in wool), and it's a great cold weather coat, which also deals with rain flawlessly. It's been amazingly useful.

Currenly considering getting a suit made in a dark navy Loro Piana twill. I haven't asked about the price yet, but knowing these guys it will be pricey. Does one pay a lot for the brand when going with their fabrics? Are there better options at a similar price point, or cheaper options at similar quality levels? Had a terrible experience in their store in Brussels, where everything seemed to be of very high quality but still overpriced. Seemed to be aimed at the quietly rich, who don't care if a sweater is 1500 och 2500 euros as long as it's amazing.

Thank you.
I didn't know that, I thought they made the garments as well.

i've accumulated a dozen or more LP pieces that are in my regular rotation. some denim, some wool dress pants, several cashmere jumpers or roadsters etc. havent run any outerwear yet though.

LP cashmere is the best i have ever worn. I prefer it to the recent Brunello cashmeres of which i have a couple.

The LP roadsters are amazing and the fabric quality and durability is just awesome. I wear my stuff hard and will wear a sweater a dozen or more times before it goes in the wash. I've pulled threads or had my heart stop at some pulls but anyone capable with a needle can restore it. I do have to shave the pilling a couple times a year to keep them looking proper.

The stuff is crazy $$$ but their items are timeless and of such quality that you can amortize the cost over years.

Now that LVMH owns them there are great sales to be had at the outlets. I picked up two cashmere roadsters at the outlet near Palm Springs last year for about 70% off MSRP. The staff even said they have only starting the sales like that since LVMH acquired. I keep a saved search on ebay for LP cashmeres but hoping i'll be able to pick up similar deals at the outlets again on my next vacation.

I've gone through many of the lesser cashmere products over the years and i can say that even at $500 for a sweater (which they can be had for much less at the outlets) you are better off with LP than getting the more common cashmere stuff at $150 - $300.
