Weird, I thought of all places, this is where I'd run into the skeptics. I'd much, much rather have a Mega Man X style game, with some Odin Sphere-level sprites or something, instead of the hardcore NES style. I guess I'm in the minority in that it doesn't really excite me at all. Maybe it's just been too long for me.

I think it's just the idea of it that's so amazing. It's like a dorky fan project, but by a great developer. Inafune is so cool.

Agreed. I've no idea if this is what Nintendo was anticipating with the VC, but I couldn't be happier that Capcom is taking full advantage of that kind of service. Even if I wasn't excited about the game per se (I practically ate Mega Man 2 when I was a kid, and find that it still oozes charm today, but never really played past Mega Man 3), it's still a huge moment for gaming when someone like Keiji Inafune is willing to do something this cool.

I remember a short bout of obsession, though I really don't remember anything about the game other than that it's an isometric ARPG. I'm anticipating it and I hope it's somewhat progressive, unlike StarCraft 2. I think Blizzard has been making the same three games for nearly 20 years now.

The last game Blizzard made worth playing was The Lost Vikings.

I've never been into Strategy games but I did beat Diablo in like 4 or 5 hours with a group of 2 or 3 other folks one day. Don't think our PC then could have handled Diablo II.

Sometimes...I want to fight you.

I played a heated game of Political Machine 2008 tonight. My friend, a fresh political science grad who has served as press secretary on a couple recent campaigns, is obsessed with the series. It was really, really fun, and I ended up defeating his Ron Paul with my Obama. A lot of criticism has been levied at the nature of the game and I think, rather than that being a fault of the game itself, it's an accurate satire of the current manufactured mess that is politics. Regardless, I don't think you can really beat it for $20. Awesome little strategy game.

It was also my introduction to Stardock's Steam alternative, Impulse. A bit of a system hog but it was nice to see my copy of Sins of a Solar Empire on there (woo-hoo, cardboard boxes go in the trash) and the interface seems pretty flexible.

Haha, Star/Warcraft were pretty good, I'm just not into RTSs. But I never got WoW or Diablo at all.
