I missed that too be honest. Still I don't care for the scene though now it seems more tolerable.

Very insightful, Ron. As Davis McAlary decried after the shooting (and before he got the crap beat out of him) and as Creigh Burnette commented on YouTube last night, New Orleanians have a way of screwing themselves over.

That finale was awesome - very emotional. I'm so glad there will be another season!

I'm only sad that John Goodman's character won't be back, but his apparent suicide is a kind of glum grace note for the season and a metaphor for New Orleans itself - how much the city has been beaten down. Khandi Alexander was a force of nature and Melissa Leo reminded me why I've loved her work since she appeared in "Homicide: Life on the Streets" (one of the best shows in the history of American television, IMHO). Clark Peters was also great as the big chief, and loved the climatic pose-down by the rival Mardi Gras Indian tribes. Plus, all the great musicians who appeared - McCoy ******* Tyner, Ron Carter, Donald Harrison, Steve Earle, Allen Toussaint, Irma Thomas, et al.

"respect for respect" WON'T BOW DOWN - DON'T KNOW HOW The scene with the cops was so fantastically anti-climactic that it was brilliant!

I thought I would watch/read anything related to George Pelecanos. I was wrong. Don't enjoy this show at all.

i broke out laughing during the showdown pow wow scene, because i was thinking that the big chiefs came close to each other then fondled each other under their pretty costumes...

this is a great show. i almost went down to volunteer after the storm, but my wife and i were just too busy moving to NYC. I kinda think that if I did go there i'd get stuck, end up working in a hospital there, have tons of bitches on the side, gain 50lbs from the food, and enjoy the nightlife... probably love every minute of it too.
