I hate packing, I hate flying, I dislike ironing, and I especially hate worrying about sauce stains on dry-clean only clothing while I'm supposed to be on vacation.

Just spent a week in SF / Norcal where the temps ranged from 10-22 C, and it was crazy sunny and beautiful, but preparation for days of ****** rain was a must. In addition to stuffing my face, I did a whole lot of walking outside, some hiking and bouldering at Castle Rock park, and went to a fancy dinner for my Grandmother's birthday. What I brung:

-3 tees
-1 lightweight shirt, 1 viyella shirt, 1 blue dress shirt
-jeans, grey cotton trousers, lightweight nylon / cotton pants (they're Dries, so I get a pass, right?), 1 pair of shorts, 1 pair of swim trunks, which never got used. Too many pants.
-charcoal linen / wool suit
-black APC tennis shoes, dark brown oxfords - vibrammed, climbing shoes
-1 sweatshirt, 1 cashmere sweater
-1 lightweight hooded softshell (ok for showers, not so ok for hours of storm)
-Dora the Explorer flannel jammies
-assorted travel stuff
-tupperware!

In other words, I overpacked, but just by a hair, which is an improvement for me.

Things I wish I had: loafers with a goodly level of grampa steez, a travel jacket (unstructured wool flannel with zippered inner pockets), belt with a non-metal buckle. And trail running shoes that are not too obnoxious
