This is a great idea TS. You need just a little bit more schtick to it though to really nail it. Like you only make one post per day? Themes of the week? And I plan to look up Cat Case on iTunes when I get home tonight.

I will take suggestions for the theme of the week on Sundays i guess... Due to the nature of this thread, its essential randomness, and the unpredictability of what i might be thinking about or interested in at the time, the "theme" might not be apparent or clear.

I have a good one for today I think. But you'll have to wait until i get home.

So today's "new thing" is a big departure from yesterday's. Today I was thinking about the vast underground spaces that exist under almost every major and most minor cities. Steam, bus, subway, power, drainage, and other kinds of tunnels, maintenance and storage areas, bomb shelters, abandoned basements, miles of city blocks that were regraded or covered.... There are some really interesting stories and facts out there. There are people who explore these man-made caves out of fun and curiosity. There are people who live in them out of necessity, preference, or... habit? Dark Days Abandoned subway stations/levels NYC Newark Yokohama Paris Cincinnati London Misc. Including Tokyo More London Seattle Portland Jinx Magazine Photos - some stylish gents in here! Sub-Urban (UK) The Grandaddy of them all, Infiltration R.I.P. Ninjalicious.

There's actually a new show on the History channel about exploring sewage systems in major/ancient cities. Those pictures are really cool TS.

Yeah, I've gotten that before. Especially when I'm walking around with a huge knife in my hand.

I looked 'em up, but did not listen. Country or alt. country? Was just not in the mood. I did find some music from Japan though. A couple guys doing ambient electronica.

Hard to define... Not country like anything modern. Country like... the Patsy Cline, Johnny Cash, type of country. You know... the good stuff. Some of her stuff doesn't sound "country" at all, some of it does... I dunno. Its strange.

Neko Case is decidely alt-country, in the same vein as some of Ryan Adams' stuff (i.e. Heartbreaker). My favorite of her's is Fox Confessor Brings the Flood, which is really one of my favorite records, period. Beautiful atmospheric production and vivid lyrics from a top-notch vocalist.
