If anyone wants to see Tim's look book for fall give me your email. I don't feel like downloading, hosting and posting all the pictures he sent me. Some great workwear inspired stuff with a touch of turn of the century (not the most recent one) charm.

Feel free to post any of the pics I sent here if you want to discuss...Tim is all about getting more of a buzz for his line via blogs and fashion boards.

While he did do stints at J.Crew and RL, I find his take on Americana a bit more interesting and varied. Edit: Got it, thanks.

Don't get me wrong, his stuff is nice and well made but there isn't anything special about it nor is it very "designed". The line is good staples but the pricing is over two times what it should be. On sale it is an excellent buy.

I'm not sure what you mean by "designed". It's not experimental, if that's what you mean, but getting the cut and details just right on a simple piece is hardly a trivial exercise. Cutting the neckline to sit right on the low v-neck sweater with cabling detail, for example, is an example of good design.

As for the price, I don't think that the are ridiculous for the designer or even contemporary/diffusion pricepoint.

I remember really liking the collection when you posted the shots from the show on your blog, Justin. Lookbook looks really good.

I had a question for you. We're getting Robert Gellar's A/W in really soon, I'm excited to see a lot of the pieces in person, what did you think of it?

Designed as in it lacks any design talent, not a "nicely placed V". I see, so you are placing him amongst the ranks of the belgians.

That last line was downright comedic

I really like the Robert Gellar stuff I've seen.

Tim Hamilton, Robert Geller, it all looks like they graduated and were fired from the JCrew Academy of Design.

It seems to me that there has been a recent influx of all these dull as dishwater menswear designers trying to reinvent greige and claiming "details" as their selling point--like the American stepchild of bad Jil Sander.

Ok, honestly, MAYBE you could apply that to some of his F/W stuff (big maybe), but have you seen SS/08? It's sick. The good kind of sick. Now THAT collection I can't wait to see in person.
