Usually I post about the content of threads - well; the text of each thread - but today I'm going to focus on pictures.
Last Night's Dinner
Yes this thread is a catalog of interesting meals that our rich members cook for themselves with their Staub cast iron dutch ovens and their Shun knives, but more than that, it's a place to find some really nice pictures. Semi-professional food pictures look like fascinating abstract arts: lots of colors, lots of shapes, a hint of dirtiness and sexiness, and level of obfuscation so really you have no idea what in the hell you're looking at.
Watches
My interest in the watch thread right now again isn't really about the watches themselves, but of the photos people take of them. Lots of great macro photography and closeup shots of expensive (dare I say overpriced?) archaic timepieces. Bonus tip: look for threads when someone takes off the back of the thread and has a close up shot of the movement, especially if the movement is hand-engraved and has precious jewels. Fun!
