Yeah, it has definitely taken its toll.

Not sure why. I'm not a great sleeper, but that usually manifests itself as trouble falling asleep. Once I'm out, I'm out. Lately, however, I've been sleeping really poorly - waking up a lot/easily, waking up crazy early and not being able to fall back asleep, etc. I'm guessing it's stress, as I've had similar trouble in the past when I've been stressed (and things have been stressful lately), but this has gone on for a lot longer than it usually does.

When I was having some unusually persistent sleep difficulties I had good luck with Gaboprentin (sp?). Requires a prescription, but to my understanding doesn't mess with your system like some other drugs do. Had no adverse side effects or morning grogginess.

G, some other things to consider:

Caffeine. Are you having any source of it after 5pm?

Bladder. Try and lay off the fluids a few hours before bed and empty it prior to sleep.

Thirst. If you tend to wake up in the middle of the night needing a drink put a bottle of water bedside.

Sex. Get some at bedtime.

Just a few more thoughts in troubleshooting for you.

I don't fly enough to hate airlines. I'm so busy giddily looking at clouds and cities like I don't care if they get me there an hour late with no luggage.

Stuck at Bally's Las Vegas for six days for Lawyerkid's dance thing. She's having a great time, so it's cool, but OMFG is this a crappy hotel. I think Dante was writing about it.

Ha, that's the 8th deadly sin -- purporting to facilitate the original 7 and ending up with Bally's.

we stay there every year for a real estate convention. On the plus side, its cheap, and about as well located as you can get. On the minus side, its kind of a shithole. Make sure you get in the new tower, I've heard the old tower (closer to the front) is gross. Plus, that's the one that caught on fire back when it was the Hilton.

Pro-Tip, the little Mexican restaurant in the back of the casino bar is awesome.

Thanks for the food tip. Yes, it's cheap, but as you point out it's a shithole, and it's a bit less cheap if you want to use the crappy fitness room (extra daily charge), have a mini-fridge in your room (same) or have wi-fi access (same). Plus it's an understaffed cattle pen, so plan on a thirty minute wait to do things like check in, get your car, or buy a cup of coffee.

Jesus Christ, people are rude. We put out some feelers for a little shindig at our place tonight, invited some people from the neighborhood who are nice enough but occasionally quirky. I ran into the guy this morning dropping our kids at the same camp and he announced they will be coming. Also that they will be bringing their friends, X and Y, you know, Z's parents, you've met them before! Oh, and [wife]'s brother is coming into town this weekend to help mulch our yard, and (I **** you not, this is his wording) "he'll need something to eat, too." Oh, and, yeah, he brought his GF. I don't know how much mulching is gonna go on this weekend! [rolls eyes]

So we invite a couple and their kid for a casual get together, they say yes assuming it's ok to bring 4 more adults and another child.
