this ***** cut in front of me in line at the dunkin donuts. her response was "it's new york deal with it".

It was probably the 2nd outright rude thing I've had to deal with living in the city in 3 years.

she was haggard fat about 4'10" and maybe pregnant. maybe she needed a little pity.

I just spent like an hour on the phone with payroll over what ended up being a $12 discrepancy on my paycheck and now my coffee is cold

I had to do it though since it was unclear to me how they calculated it and it could have been a $220 discrepancy and since the issue was an overpayment in one place and an underpayment in another, I had to be sure they wouldn't catch the overpayment and try to take it away in the future (and you know they'd never catch the underpayment on their own...)

Did sunglasses slowly fall down out of nowhere and slide onto her face?

So did you survive your semester dude? Had a shitstorm of posts then it just stopped, gotta be over by now right?

Yeah, semester was over Tuesday but I've been working a lot this week. Grades are in today, four A's one B+ and one independent study that my professor hasn't submitted a grade for and marked pass fail instead. But she is 80 something years old and they just changed the submission system. All told, better than I thought I'd done.

Not quite "I'm going to fail all my classes" bad
happy.gif
I find by assuming the worst I tend to do a lot better. Like, if I constantly act like I'm in danger of getting fired and work myself half to death, I tend to get promoted a lot and people give me raises. Same thing with school.

My mom just finished nursing school and took that approach. It made her sort of insufferable for two years (*ahem* Liam and this thread ) but she got a 4.0.

The technology is cool and all, but if I found myself at home alone trying to impress my phone by saying it's date night and asking it if it likes "hotspacho" I'd feel like a ******* loser.
