If I recall correctly, they commision their own silk weaves but the ties are made to a standard pattern.

Probably the silks are very good quality woven in England and the thicker knots they make are favored by the English to accompany spread collars.

I have a dream that some day this large knot look will finally be played out. Unfortunately, that will not make me like the ***** and Stain ties any more than I do now.

Some of them aren't that bad. They look like they have tried to combine the more flamboyant end of Jermyn street (eg. Turnbull and Harvie + Hudson) but make many of the colors suitable for the export market. Most unfortunate are the plaid ties. I havent tried a S&S tie yet but I wouldnt mind and the thicker lining balances out Le Chic Anglais.

this part two about English style ties but it is in the words of several of the weavers, makers and merchants in the UK.
