Does anyone have a pair of Johnston and Murphy Crown Aristocrafts in brown or burgundy they'd be willing to offload? I have a pair in black that I really like. I know they exist in those colors per eBay, but the largest non-black pair I've seen has been 12D, and I'm really more a 12eee or 13d.

Here's an offer to the group:

I'd be willing to trade or sell extremely cheaply (not much more than shipping) this pair of AE calf Shelton in 11D. I tried to make these work, as the uppers are almost pristine, but I really struggle with the AE 511 last.

Full disclosure: they are in need of a full resole at this point. Someone needs to rescue these.

Wah wah waaaaahhhhhhhhh.

That said, I kinda like those, as a beater pair of saddles. Then again I have an unreasonable number of saddle shoes as this point.

But man, I coulda helped you with that one, as I gotta thing for the Polo/Shelton (I’m up to four pairs of those now) - hell I’m wearing Shelton’s right this second.

From its 1976 introduction, the Polo was on 4 last until 1991, when they switched it to the 511 (1) last. In 1999, without changing the model/style number, it was suddenly renamed the Shelton (a 1998 8271 Polo is the same shoe as a 1999 8271 Shelton).

Note, when it come to the burgundy and black Polo/Shelton, the models you really want to look for are the 1976-79 8224 and the 2010-13 8221, as those are the non-Polished Cobbler versions (polished cobbler versions are 8274 and 8271).

Shelton Appreciation:

I have two pairs I’m picked up along the way before finding better fits. I’d rather move these down the line than look at them any longer. Shoe trees are not included, and feel free to make me an offer if you think my asking price is out of line. I have more pictures, so drop me a line if you are interested and want to see more details. I don’t know what the file size limit is but didn’t want to clog up the thread with a million pictures.

1) Allen Edmonds MacNeil 10.5 3e in brown pebble grain. The heels are not AE, so presumably replaced. I’m figuring $15 to ship in CONUS, so how about $55 shipped.

2) Best guess is that these are Masons but no markings on the heel pad.O’Sullivan heel and markings inside look consistent with Masons, though. These are 10.5e and would stay if they were an 11e. Very lightly worn and look all original. Again, I’m figuring $15 for shipping, so $55 shipped.

Starting to post some shoes that need to be moved on. I'll have about 10 pairs total, once they all get listed.

Posting some shoes to eBay from acquisitions that don't fit me properly. Happy to negotiate outside of eBay if anyone is interested. Just DM with the shoe you're looking at. The Alden and the Nike aren't really vintage, but thought I'd include the batch.

I also have several more I'm preparing to list: Freeman Free-Flex LWB, Weyenberg Massagic LWB, AE Shelton (8241). All size 13A.

The “running out of room” Sale:

I have seven pairs of shoes to sell. I’m not trying to make any money on these. I’m trying to get most of my cost back. 3 of them are just a tad too small (10.5C)

ALL PRICES ARE SHIPPED Conus
(feel free to make an offer)

NEW OLD STOCK Footjoy in the box (no lid on one pair).

The first pair is a gorgeous color tassel loafer. 10.5C $80
IMG_8996.jpeg

The second pair is also NEW OLD STOCk with box and bags. These are Lizard Tassel loafer. 10.5C $85

Next is a pair I REALLY wanted to work. I have not seen another pair in person. They are 1969 Florsheim “Ventura” monkstrap in Teak Cashmere Calf. 10.5C $100

Next is a pair of Vintage Stuart Mcquire Shell Cordovan LWB. Marked as 10.5D, but they fit LARGE to me. I dyed these because they had odd spots on them where the color was fading, but it was sort of blotchy. $60

Allen Edmonds “Nassau” Shark Skin Wingtips. 10.5C $65

Nettleton Shark 9C $40 typical wear. Heel pad has wear

Alden Black Shell — no cracks, but definite wear. Sole still firm. 10.5D
$65

Here we have a Unicorn. A true HOLY GRAIL For Sale

They are NEW OLD STOCK Florsheim 93605 10.5D with Box and they are the ultra desirable Coke Red (sometimes called Cherry Coke).

They are new and incredible. They come with bags and they are not dried out or split or damaged.

The modern equivalent (or near equivalent) of these would be a new pair of Alden Shell Cordovan. Of course these are much harder to find. I realized I have several pair of 93605 and I can’t make myself wear these. I have kept them conditioned. They are not polished with any sort of wax or polish with any pigment or even a neutral polish. I didn’t want to alter the amazing color.

The box is probably the correct time period, but is not a 93605 box. I’m pricing these less than many other NOS 93605 priced currently and the color demands a premium. The price may seem out of the ordinary, but these are the absolute top of the 93605 heap especially in this color. They are date code AJ. Which means they are from 1979 since the 93605 was made until 1988.

I included a picture with an another pair to show the difference. Comes with Florsheim bags as well.

Price is $850 shipped to CONUS.
