Just received my "new to me" jacket yesterday...Brothers Brothers Herringbone for $35 shipped off Ebay. The jacket is in mint condition with the pockets still sewn together and it fits perfectly, just needs to have the sleeves taken up about 2 inches. I'm not sure if its tweed or not since the label says, "Made in the USA of imported fabric". Feels like tweed though. I'm extremely proud of my purchase!!

Did you check the inside right front of the jacket? I was in a Brooks Brothers recently which had that exact color herringbone on display, and it was Harris Tweed -- the label was just on the opposite side.

Yes, I checked both pockets for labels and did not find any reference to size or Harris Tweed, only a wookmark label.

I'm sure I'll catch grief for this, but I find her very pretty. Minnie Driver does it for me too, so maybe I just like that type of face.

Good time its Halloween soon then, lots of pumpkins for you to gawk at. ;)

Great thread guys; keep em coming.
Does anyone here have an opinion or experience with J. Crew tweed? Tried this one on in the shop the other day and liked the fabric and the ludlow fit. Apparently the tweed is from the Abraham Moon mill in Yorkshire but the jacket is made in China. Just haven't seen many tweed jackets with a non-boxy fit in that price range (listed at $300, but the current 25% off promotion - code:LOVEFALL - takes it down to ~$220 with free shipping).

Personally, I'd browse for better quality on Yoox, or hunt up a Polo tweed. You might even find a similar J. Crew sportcoat on eBay for less -- they blow out their sportcoats and suit coats for $50 at their warehouse sample sales.

That said, if it fits you well and you like it, go for it. You could do worse.

Please excuse the puddling on the jeans:

I have since had the labels removed! Just no new photos of this combination (wearing dark brown cord pantaloons here)

Agree...eBay is your friend. I bought this Brooks Brothers Herringbone tween jacket last week for $35 shipped and its in great shape. Taking it to the tailors today for some alterations.

I'm somewhat tempted to print this out at A4 size and pin it on our office wall.

Do you not think this is an excellent example of colour? everything just fits, making the girl even prettier.
