4 lbs is the cutoff for USPS First Class and that doesn't have tracking. I haven't had any trouble with tracking on Priority, but I have only shipped about 20 packages internationally. You should definitely check out the price for USPS Express as well. It usually isn't that much more expensive than Priority when shipping internationally.
So did he try and buy something here from you and resell it? He bought a suit from me on Ebay and resold it on Ebay. He made a little over 200% on it.
I know this isn't really related to this thread but I figure a lot of posters here will know the answer to this question -
With USPS Priority Mail international how good is the tracking? You use the customs form to track right? I would be shipping a relatively heavy and bulky pair of boots to Germany (over 4 pounds). Buyer wants gift and value marked down as well. Just trying to see if it's worth the risk.
4 lbs you may be forced into express mail territory. Germany usually shows up more expensive than most other EU countries for me, maybe its just an figment of too many shipping labels printed. But, either way, you are looking at at least $50-$55.

I have nothing against the guy. Glory to him. Do not, though, try to buy something from me to sell and act as if you are asking a good price for a thrifting brother.
offer consignment and let me think about it. that is the honest way to go.
