Found a few interesting things today. Wondering if someone can authenticate this for me. Picked it up for $20 during peak hour (I never thrift in the evening, but made a stop to avoid traffic). Not sure how the vultures missed this. I'm leaning towards real. Quality is there, labels don't look "cheap" like on a knock-off, and not sure a knock-off would come with a beaver fur collar. Sadly, the beaver skin collar (probably the coolest feature of the coat) is MIA. :fu: Still worth $20, right?

Sorry for the crappy pictures. Low lighting since it's dark out and lost my flash.

I have a story to share. You guys are just about the only people I know who would appreciate it. I started working in a ****** contract to hire position about 3 months ago for a huge fortune 100 company. I got my bachelor's in teaching and got my license and everything, but buying and selling clothes on ebay and this here thrift thread we have going on, made me change my mind and decide that I wanted to go into business. That plus after student teaching in the ghetto I realized I didn't really like teenagers all that much. Anyway, I start working in this position with the understanding that my contract is 6 months long and I can get hired on sometime after 3 months. After training I meet my new manager and we didn't exactly click right away. Everyone else who came on as contractors seemed to get along with him better and I never figured out why. Anyway, on one casual Friday I was wearing some cheap beater Cone denim raws made by Flint and Tinder. My boss was walking by my cubicle and stopped to ask me what kind of jeans I'm wearing. The brand is "Flint and Tinder" I said. "Are they selvedge?" he said. Now, I've been wanting someone to ask me that for about 3 years now. I didn't even have any selvedge ID showing, he just knew. Anyway, after that, he started messaging me every day. He said he was looking into buying new jeans and that he was looking into LVC or APC. I suggested 3Sixteen or Left Field at that price point. He told me he used to flip sneakers, and I told him about my eBay store. Now I don't know if there's a direct correlation here, but I was offered a full time position last week at exactly 3 months and 1 day into my contract. I like to think that all of that helped. Today he walked by and told me he's going with the 3Sixteen ST-120x, which is clearly better than the APC's he was leaning towards before I think.
Naw bro, tell him to get some naked and Famous in skinny guys. Hide.gif

This got the blood pumping. Arnys sizing is wild, this fits better than the Sz 40 veste forestiere.
Is that a Caruso tag on that arnys?

Aren't you a 42?
Boy, you've been gone a long time. These are all 40R/52EU or smaller, and some of the 40R are getting to be too big. It's getting to be a bit of a (first world) problem. I've mothballed some of the really amazeballs 42R stuff I can't tailor down but can't bring myself to sell, traded other stuff, sold yet more and been picking up from people (like EazyE, who owned the purple gingham there) and even resorted to buying from SuitSupply to fill critical gaps in my wardrobe -- all at a time where I desperately need the cash for other stuff.

Es Possible.... Need some more detailed shots of the main center medallion, and closeups of the copyright / artist sig / etc if they are on there.
I enlarged it section by section and can't find a signature anywhere (or a copyright).

You know you're a little obsessed with our hobby when I remember from 8-10 months ago that its called "Les Clefs" and is supposed to have 47 keys on it..looks legit to me.

I rarely mess with shoes but picked up some this past weekend. Was wondering if these were shell:

I checked a list I found that had model #'s and these weren't on there.

Ever get caught behind another shopper who's moving at a snail's pace? Like a guy standing in front of a tiny rack of suits and taking like 2 minutes with each item?

It's uncanny but that's like every shopper today. I usually just go to another section and come back but they're everywhere tonight. It's nuts. Even the cashiers are taking like 5 minutes per customer. And everyone seems to be buying lots of loose china, and of course they have to wrap each piece individually.

/end petty rant

Can't tell from the pics, but if that's supposed to be a 97A (Autumn 1997) tag, the font is off based on the ones I've seen. The A should look like this "A", not the computer rounded font. Not sure if Chanel had plain "Chanel" in 1997 either - thought they were all "Chanel Boutique". Also, the white collar tag should be folded in half, with just "Composition" on the top half and you have to flip it up to see the rest. Both "MADE IN FRANCE" and the French translation should be in all caps.

But....Waiting for Spoo to chime in - he's got the most knowls.

The last AE shells I picked up were coded as calfskin on the interior model #, but those look like shell to me.

Wow, thanks! I'll add more pics tomorrow.

Shell from here. I've got some that are not on the big list, and it's a pretty exhaustive list (of Nettleton's).
+1, I had been adding (and subtracting the incorrect ones) to the list for a few years. Probably had added 25 or so numbers. Unfortunately I lost the list when I accidentally wiped out my mac a few months ago.
