No offence Stanley, I post this as a fellow dog lover and becuse I'm sure you only want the best for your pet but from seeing this and the other photos you've posted I think you ought to put your bulldog on a diet ASAP and if she can manage it also up the excercise regime. Bulldogs suffer horrific health problems because of the numerous extreme deformities they're purposely bred for and making her obese will exacerbate them, affect her quality of life and quite possibly shorten it too. Drop a few pounds and you should hopefully notice a positive difference in behaviour and energy levels right away.

Honestly, thanks for your concern, but if you're just going off the photos I've been posting here then you are not getting the full picture. She definitely has the excess skin and folds that are characteristic of this breed, but she is in good shape and is very active.

For instance, these should hopefully clear up any misconception:

in this shot she is pulling my ~150lb friend along the ice

You're right she looks far better in those and it's also lovely to see photos of an active EBD. However, and it may just be the photots, but I think it would be even nicer to see, better for her joints and help her in hot weather if she was a bit lighter with less of a tum, a proper defined waist and better muscle definition.
Btw thank you for taking my comments in the well meaning manner they were intended and also for posting some great photos.

I forgot about this thread! How are the dogs doing?

Koji (the black and tan pup we've had for...a year and a half?) is better than he was, which is great. He's still absolutely terrified of children (and all strangers), but his weirdnesses have smoothed over a bit. Still high-energy, though - they're both pawing at me for entertainment right now.
