The way I learned to cook eggs, you have several tablespoons of fat in the pan, and you splash the fat over the eggs with a spoon or a spatula until the yolks just turn pink.

Let cook for 2-3 minutes and remove. Done.

Another way to keep it all together is to use cling film (saran wrap across the atlantic). It sounds a ridiculous idea but once you figure out the timing it's a reliable way of poaching a bunch of eggs in boiling water at the same time. See the wholly scientific road-test here:

Of course the special poaching pan on the previous page is less fiddly to use - my parents used one of these when I was growing up - but there's more to wash afterwards and I've never got round to getting one for myself.

Ok get this. Darknwarn, you might find this pretty awesome.

I remember you doing a bo luc lac for dinner a while back. So here is my take on it with soft boiled eggs.

So I guess there are many different ways to make bo luc lac. Basically I just used some tri tip (a hunk of some leftover meat). I very lightly fried it in a wok after having it marinate in a lime juice, maggi, and minced lemon grass. I added more lime after making it with some minced cilantro. If I had some nuoc mam and watercress I would've added that too.

I then made some soft boiled fried eggs. I peel, and cut off the top, and poured the yolks into the bowl of meat. I mix, and then fill the eggs with like a few pieces of meat and then eat the whole thing in one bite.

Yeah it was pretty awesome. And yeah I came up with this while drunk.
