So I opened a small vintage store. Any unusual or unlikely suggestions on what to stock?

It's more of a booth; a store within a store, if that makes sense. I'm going to be stocking it with vintage/pre-owned mens clothing with an emphasis on American-made goods (Surprise!)

Anyway, I'm wondering if folks have suggestions for things they'd be excited to find besides vintage Navy pea coats, capital E levis, made-in-USA Pendleton, and the like. I'll of course stock them when I find them, which is not often.

Right now I'm trying to do a good business in versatile and appropriate ties (The other mens booths only have hideous wide ones) and US-made crewneck sweatshirts, especially with unique local graphics.

Hit all the thrift stores in your area and buy up every cool wide leather belt ( non dress). You can snag them cheap if your timing is right at thrift shops and sell them with a good markup but still very affordable. Get an old ladder and hang them on the rungs. A pile of brown and black well worn leather belts looks great and appeals to vintage customers.

Remove any funky buckles and toss them. Sell buckles separately.

You might look into quality used work boots and cowboy boots. They are hot items here at one of the states largest flea markets.

Vintage leather cafe racer style and classic black motorcycle jacket too.

Army shirts and jackets are popular too.

Thanks for the tip about belts; I never give them much thought because so many are so cheap. I'll them a more thorough look next time I'm thrifting.

I'm wary of tee shirts. Anything in specific to look for or should I stay away?

The only T shirts I see worthy of thrifting are the ones that have a remarkable period graphic. The ironic 70's stuff is boring but athletic, service business , motorcycle brands, etc. done in 40's , 50's and early 60's typefaces are still quite popular.
