Slimming/Narrowing Suit/Blazer Sleeves in NYC

The sleeves on most of my suit jackets and blazers are cut too full. I want to have them narrowed/slimmed down, but I can't find a reputable tailor who will do it for a reasonable price in NYC.

GQ says that $40 should be spent doing this to the sleeves (GQ Style Manual 2010). Can anyone recommend a tailor who can slim down my sleeves for about that $40 price?

I don't think the armhole needs to be messed with in these cases. Thanks.

The ones on the LES tend to be cheaper. I was recommended Stanton Tailors on Stanton Street, but never had personal experience with them because they were not taking any new orders at the time. By default, I went to Victor Tailors on Mott Street and I have been very very satisfied. I started with simple tasks (taking in shirts, hemming pants) and have gone on to some fairly complicated jacket alterations (taking out shoulder pads, shortening the jacket), all with great satisfaction. I've also had the sleeves narrowed on a few of my jackets and have been happy with the result. I think they charged $25 or $30 for this.

Definitely no more than $40. I'm sure in NYC everything costs more, but I pay $20 to have this done in Texas.
