(Assuming) Sept 1st at the earliest Carmina is back online that would put delivery in theory around early December, which is fine for me personally since the weather in Chicago doesn't start getting really nasty until then anyway.

Not sure how this would look asthetically but is it possible to only do the top 3 or 4 eyelets in steal and the remaining be blind eyelets? I'm not really a fan of metal eyelets on a bal boot however I understand the need to compromise on a GMTO. Besides that am indeed interested in a calf/suede combo with dainite sole on the rain last.

I guess we'll just have to play the waiting game and the cross our fingers...

Now we are three. Or did I miss anyone?

I suggest the following setup:
*Rain last
*Dark/mid brown calf with dark/mid brown suede shaft
*Semi brouge line on toe cap
*Single dainite / singe leather sole with steel toe taps
*Lined with tan calf

Inspiration:

would be very, very interested! moving forward, please keep me posted

Anton,

The boot you proposed is very dressy, I would like it with the standard leather soles. To me this looks like a copy of EG Shannon so would prefer standard brown leather and upper shaft made from very dark suede.

+1.

I'm very interested in a balmoral boot on the Rain last, but would prefer a leather sole, for the above reasons, and also blind eyelets (ie not visible steel eyelets), again for dressiness reasons.

Your fall/winter list for upcoming Carmina stock shows a longwing in cognac shell. Any idea of the sole?

I found a photo of a cognac shell LWB that you brought in fall 2013 that said it was on double Dainite, so I assume it's just a restock of that.

So we are four then. Or even five with you gyasih?

Anyone at SkoAB who can give us some info on the pricing and chances to use the rain last?

Does anyone interested have any strong opinions on speed hooks on bals? It sure is convenient, but would it also be an anachronism to have to have something like that on such a formal boot?

And what about soles? Im leaning against single dainite at the moment. A boot like this would be great for me during the Swedish winters when Im at the university where I cant change for indoors/outdoors.

Antiquing Would be nice but it is'nt that important for me, it can always be added later.
+1 for dainite as well.

Heads up: we will have to adjust our prices across the range in early September due to currency exchange rates (both the GBP and Euro has become much more expensive for us). The price increase will be about 5-10% on most items. I wanted to give our SF pals an early heads up for those of you guys who are on the fence about something.

Besides Enzo Bonafe, just to remind I am proposing two G&G GMTO
Personally I prefer to get the Hove although...

1. Hove, Oak Hatch Grain, DG70/GG06, double leather sole

2. Oakham, Vintage Cherry body with Burgundy Highland Grain cover, medallion, TG73, single leather sole

Last Call before price rises!!
