Hey guys,

I know a similar thread has been started about shirts, but it seems like the fit is a bit different with a half zip. I have one of these in black:

The sleeves are the perfect length but I feel like the body is a bit too long. Is it possible to "hem" it? Would they just flip it up 2 inches and stich the same line? Would they have to taper the sides? Any advice is appreciated for this noob

Cheers!

an experienced tailor can do anything but i would not alter a sweater. if you prefer a shorter/longer length that is why they make different sizes. maybe that sweat is designed to be worn longer ... if you dont like it give to a friend or donate it.

I tried to have the sleeves on a sweater shortened. Showed it to a tailor - a guy who never flinched at wacky alteration requests - and he said it wouldn't work. Something about the thicker wool made it hard to work with (this was a lambswool sweater). I didn't search out other tailors, so maybe I could've found someone . . . but yeah, altering sweaters seems verboten.
