$1,279.00 is still too much for what a  Santoni Limited Edition shoe is

I am not saying you are trying to make an excessive profit margin. The problem seems to be that there is no way to get them at reasonable price- that goes for you too and hence the fact that I while i think they are too expensive I don't blame you, I blame Santoni

Well blame is probably not the right word. Envy,  ....

The limited edition are very well made. Better in polish and more innovative design than edward green and the standard John Lobb.

$1279 is a Ok deal.

santoni fam (brown) > ferr tramezza > ferr (reg line) > santoni fam (orange) > santoni (reg) > ferr studio = bruno magli

Bogus... it’s like comparing Marissa Miller > Anne Hathaway > Greta Van Susteren

Each brand has a "hand made/fam" line (yes, even Bruno Magli), a mid tier, and a lower end line. I think it’s a fair fight when comparing within tiers.

I can't speak to Lobb, but my one pair of FAM (tan sock) compare favorably to my G & G and Vass. With G & G MTO around $ 1300 and EGs, etc. roughly the same, $1279 doesn't seem like a horrible price.

Saw a Santoni on sale for $225 at lunch today. Light brown balmoral. It was either wholecut or a captoe brogue can't remember

santoni fatte a mano line with the serrated edge insole tan is a superlative line.

the goodyear line is also well made but the leather and finish on it is not as superlative as the above.

the classics line can be compared to LO ferragamo and bruno magli platinum

How good are these...can someone tell me if this is from the classic line and price ?thanks

Those are quite nice. Between being from one of the fatte a mano lines (not classic) and the shape of the waist, I'd be all over those if they were my size. The quoted $900 retail price is definitely not inflated.

Ok thanks, since this does not have the serrated insole does it imply that this is not their top line model leaving out limited editions? I really like the shoe but want to be sure before pulling the trigger. Many thanks to the forum members...

^ regarding where these rank within the fatte a mano line(s), I don't know. it seems like there's been a decent amount of debate and inconsistent info on what the different insoles imply, that if I were you, I probably wouldn't worry too much about it. if you're confident that the sizing of this particular pair will work for you, I wouldn't hesitate to buy them. just my two cents...

Anyone please?

It blake rapid shoe.
It better than all other machine constructed Santoni line.
Reverse welt construction and with hand inseam much better and rank best and
Norvegese and Bentivegna very very and rank best.
It good price with blake rapid.
Size is very funny,
it can run half size small many time but not all time.

Ok thanks, since this does not have the serrated insole does it imply that this is not their top line model leaving out limited editions? m

No.
Some place have no serrated sock and other place have serrated sock.
It make no difference with this shoe.
It is top line machine constructed shoe.
