Hi yarnsforth, thanks for posting.

I wonder if the colors in the photo are throwing things off here. If not then I'd have to suggest that the color of the shoes is a bit 'challenging' in terms of working with the gray trousers. The trousers seem so dark, the shoes so light. I get you were trying to blend them together with the socks, but there's not enough pattern/color blending in the socks to somehow bring it all together for me.

Perhaps others will call me out as mistaken here. I hope this is helpful.

my winter, work get up.
super non SF approved jeans, half zip sweater, red wing boots and white athletic socks. or really chunky wool socks when it gets really cold. nothing i am particularly proud of.


more important to dress to survive the cold weather

Thanks Gdot, very helpful. The trousers are brown and green, the socks are brown birdseye and the shoes are a sandy suede. I agree that lighter shade trousers and a sock with more pattern would have helped.
