Is there a general rule for wearing pocket squares with a vest when not wearing a suit/blazer? I usually wear a PS with suits/blazers w or w/o a tie, but was wondering if a PS w/o the jacket is something other people do as well or if I'm on my own with this one. I am referring to business attire situations where I would be wearing dress pants and shoes.

Vest without jacket = valet or waiter, don't do this. Unless it's a leather vest (and you and your partner are into that sort of thing). But then no PS.

What a load of BS

OP, dont, dont put a pocket square in a vest. That would look weird.

What for? There is no need. Wearing your pocket square in your jacket chest pocket would be the right thing.

In all seriousness, I believe only magicians and clowns employ this practice.
