For no particular reason other than the pictures are good, people get their panties in a bunch about them and they were there. The middle pic is less of a keyhole. From Noveporte on the world's best buttonhole makers: Naples:

The middle version is fine. I dislike the other, more obvious keyhole lapel buttonholes. It's probably nothing more than an arbitrary dislike, but that's just a cross I have to bear.

I only like the middle one. But at least all of these are hand cut and not punch cut.

imho the keyhole looks better on a sportcoat or an outercoat.

naples 1 is nicely made.
verona is sloppy.
naples 2 is just so so.

the edge stitching on all 3 i think is far too showy.
on naples 2 its rather garish.

How can you tell on the first and the last? The larger than normal circular end?

Looks like they were all taken at close range w/ the flash on so the fabric would appear lighter and the stitching much more prominent.

Punch cut would have a sharp corner where the straight line gave way to the curve. It would look like a lollypop, or a pin head.

I am sure you know, one can manipulate these buttonholes to make them more or less round,
A hand made buttonhole is chain of knots and depending wich way you pull the
knot you can show more or less of the eylett.
Tailors are not always the best at making buttonholes,That is most of the time the job of the finisher, many time a lady.
Have you ever seen a double knot buttonhole if you have good quality silk,
it is beautifull.
After reading all these opinions I do not know if I like the keyhole or strait better.
