Meant to "quote" the chap who said that he'd got the leather Belstaff at 80% off from Mr Porter. This is from the US version of the site presumably? Please excuse my ignorance, but what's the URL of that site?
same here. I might grab a shirt but the discounts are not that great, unless you're in the market for a jacket/coatSome nice stuff, but the stuff I want isn't discounted all that much.
I think that would be me...yes, was for the US and as far as I know it's just www.mrporter.com...
So, basically customers in the US get a much better deal than those in the company's home market of the UK? Surely not?Yup, top left is where you can change your location. Germany 50% (+15€ shipping), US 80% (+ shipping free). But can't shop for US prices because the country is set at the checkout.
Were more UK customers aware of this fact, I'd wager MrPorter would lose a good bit of business. I mean, I'm not naive about all of this, and people will buy with their wallets most of the time, but a little annoying that UK customers, some us pretty loyal ones who othersie make a point of singing MrPorter's virtues, are left with the scraps of the sale.

So set your currency to USD and create another account.
Then you can buy from the US site.
At least it works the other way (i.e set to GBP and ship to US).
They are two different sites with different stock. And they probably get more of their business from the US so deal with it
They have something called Deliveried Duty Paid, which means that you pay the customs and VAT before the item arrives your destination.Do they subtract VAT when shipping to the States?
