My visit to Steed Tailors

I'm the proud owner of a few Steed MTM suits and jackets. The first suit only needed minor tweaks, and everything else has fit perfectly since then. Their house silhouette translates very well via whoever makes them up, and the finishing is gorgeous. Edwin and Matthew look everything over very carefully in subsequent visits, and clearly take pride in the results. I intend to move to bespoke with them in a couple of years, but am very pleased with everything they've made for me with this program.

To be fair, I just looked up their MTM prices, and they are a bit less than I expected. I'm actually tempted to try it out.

No question that there is big benefit to being measured by one of those guys.

Remarkably, Steed also do online MTM, and their customer service in regards to that is superb.

And yes, great write-up with lovely photos, too.

What? I was told of no dinner, Michelin starred restaurant or not.

Will they make me a leather jacket with proper drape? And can they do it for under 4200 GBP? Kidding. I love Simon. Love him.

So, can I go to the London address for commissions/fittings? Or just the Carlisle one?

Been eyeing Steed for a while, but it would be a hassle to go to North England.

They can accommodate at either address.

What other write-ups do you have in the pipeline? I enjoyed this one, but frankly, there is nothing new of note here as most of us are very familiar with Steed. He seems great, despite his obvious penchant for taking swings at A&S whenever possible.

Did you get a chance to visit any of the smaller off-Row tailors?

I would just like to say that I think you're getting me mixed up with someone else, as to the "taking swings at A&S" I only have fond memories there and would never speak badly about them.

FWIW Edwin didn't really say anything bad about A&S when I talked to him. Plenty of other people do though.

Next is Huntsman, then Budd, then Emma Willis.

Ms. Willis is easily the most attractive business owner in all of London.

I had a good chat to her for about an hour. Absolutely lovely. Great eye for detail.

From that angle, it's almost like the sign reads: Steed iGents Bespoke Tailors.

Which would not be untrue.
