Looks like the total was $5,958. Ouch.

Come on!

6 pages of replies to a "spending spree" that cost only $9K at retail

How did you get all these at such good prices?????
Maybe I'm just off but I thought Vass and GG were 2x the prices you show.

Anyway. He does have nice items

So I got some new suits and shirts . . . and this started a chain reaction, leading to the following total meltdown in March:

Vass - Old English Oxford U-last (black)
Vass - Asquith U-last Oxford (cognac) (from SF Member msawch)
Vass - Plain Derby U-last (black) (from SF Member Tombrone)

Gaziano & Girling - St. James Oxford (cedar)
Gaziano & Girling - Hayes Oxford (black)

Sutor Mantellassi - Norvegese Monk (dark oak)

C&J Handgrade - Audley Oxford (dark oak)

C&J - Westbourne Oxford (mahogany)
C&J - Maidstone Monk (dark chocolate)
C&J - Wigmore Oxford (slightly used) (brown) from Member mta265
C&J - Weymouth Oxford (brown)

Allen Edmonds - Strand (walnut)
Allen Edmonds - McAllister (merlot)
Allen Edmonds - MacNeil (black cordovan)

Alfred Sargent - Burlington Slip-On (black) (discontinued, been looking for these for over a year)

Clark's Desert Boots (loden suede)
Clark's Desert Boots (taupe suede)

Gola - soccer shoes (navy suede)
Gola - soccer shoes (gray suede)

If I had been able to find the right EGs or Lobbs, I'd have bought them too. There's literally a sort of blackout period, of which I have only the haziest memory of tequila and credit cards, at the end of which I have all these shoes, no money whatsoever, and am sleeping on the couch because my wife says she is waiting to **** my throat while I sleep. I think the only way I could sink to a lower eschelon of fiscal responsibility would be to become a member of Congress.

Of course, it was worth it.

If anybody's interested, I'd be happy to round them all up and take a picture. In the near future, I will be selling my entire closet's worth of 48/46 stuff to help cover the damage. Probably one of the kids, as well.

Per several requests, here are some (not very good) photos.

I always have maintained that Tequila is good for you. It gives you a lucidity of thought that is only further exemplified by this wonderful selection of shoes. The spouse problem is another matter.....sleep with one eye open...

I agree with this. I have never owned nor been truly interested in a pair of AEs but I have seen several pop-up on the bay and B&S for around half off of retail.

I feel comfortable buying from a man who goes by the name "sausages." I have been eying his shoes for some time and I may make a purchase just to say that I bought from someone who identifies themselves as a cured, chopped meat product.

Yes, they were a real surprise. I saw some on HauteLook I liked, but not in my size, so I tracked these down. I love them. Size up ½ size, though--they run a little small.
