This actually makes me want to wait even longer when responding to text messages.

It's like, the primary form of communication, dude. I text more than I talk on the phone, because you never have to make idle conversation between making plans and saying good-by.

LOL, good article.

Does anyone else always use whole words instead of stupid abbreviations ("r" or "u" or "sk8er boi") when texting? I refuse to utilize the latter on moral grounds.

I hate text messaging. They add another layer of stupid **** you have to think about to dating. I'm not even going to get in to the fact that it takes me 5 minutes to text something that I could say in 30 seconds on the phone. Unfortunately, in today's world it's a necessity.

I refuse to IM with my girlfriend. She doesn't even know my usernames. She gave up on text a long time ago.

I'm reminded of the classic scene from "Swingers", where the guy leaves all the voicemail messages for the girl he met in the bar . . .

We live in some rather pathetic times. All the women have turned into vapid, insecure Carrie Bradshaw wannabes and all the men are chatty Trent types.

Who's trent? The only trent I know is Trent Reznor, and I don't think he's chatty.
