Hi everyone, I will be traveling to Milan, Rome, and Naples over the course of 12 days. I have not done much shopping since COVID came to the US, just buying the odd piece here or there. I plan on having the bare minimum packed in my suitcase so I can buy new pieces and rehaul a few parts of my wardrobe.
My total budget for new apparel, accessories, etc will be between $1.5k-$2k USD. Some style inspirations/brands/companies I like are The Rake Magazine, Battistoni, Rubinacci, Alain Delon, The Italian Gentleman (book by Hugo Jacomet)...classic menswear in general. My goal would be to find mid tier shops so I can get more bang for my buck rather than spending a large % of my budget on one item.
I'd be interested in opinions on the following categories, and have some things I have in mind on purchasing when getting there. Would be open to new/additional recommendations on brands or shops!
Sunglasses: TBD Eyewear
Ties: Plan on purchasing one tie from Marinella, Battistoni, or Rubinacci.
Suits: While a suit would take up the majority/exceed my entire budget, are there any vintage shops that specialize in classic menswear?
Shirts/Polos/Trousers/Sweaters: I planned on strolling through Cerruti, La Rinascente, etc...I've also purchased 3 shirts on sale from Camicissima on a past trip!
Shoes: Open to all whether it be a new pair of classy sneakers. Mainly wear/prefer recs on dress shoes! Loved a store named Goccia in Florence back in the day.
Underwear/Socks: Any recs here for nice underwear and dress socks would be great!
Lastly, tying back to the suits section any vintage shop in general that houses classic menswear would be ideal. Would love to see what I can find (maybe a nice tie, a suit from a tailor I come across, etc...). Apologies for the long post but any input is greatly appreciated!
